Yellow House have been at the forefront of direct work with young people throughout Merseyside, UK and Europe working on a daily basis at our own Centre and in schools, colleges and other youth agencies - as well as major theatre, art and social projects gaining local, national and international recognition for innovative work.
Our aim is to offer young people irrespective of gender, ability, race religion, sexuality, geography, or finance a safe space in Yellow House where they can be themselves free from judgement.
We will continue to utilise The Arts, including Culture, Theatre, Art, Poetry, Literature, TV, and Film to increase self-confidence, interpersonal skills and create friendships for young people who would otherwise be socially isolated.
At Yellow House, we want to continue to create something beautiful yet authentic, something relevant and innovative, something that shines LIGHT in the dark and to provide a voice for those who would normally be unheard. At Yellow House, we want to change the world through beauty.
As part of our 30 year history, we have always commemorated the holocaust. We have travelled with young people across Europe to Poland, Germany and Belgium, visiting Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen. We have met with holocaust survivors and the families of those effected and have always tried to remember and commemorate.
At Yellow House we will always encourage conversation and acceptance and will not tolerate any form of judgement.
This year, our young people have written poetry, pieces of writing and we have collectively created a piece of Art. We will create an event on our Facebook page whereby we will post the poems and display the art. The page will also have a space for people to pay their respects.
We believe at Yellow House in peace and encourage this daily to young people. We want to remind everybody that even in this dark cold world, love always shines through.
