We’re delighted that you are interested in organising an activity to mark Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD). You are joining thousands of individuals and organisations who want to share the lessons of the past to create a safer, better future.
Each year local HMD activities take place across the UK, bringing people together from all backgrounds to learn more about the Holocaust, Nazi Persecution and the genocides which followed. Each activity also provides a meaningful opportunity for attendees to consider how we can all make our society a better place today, free from hatred, prejudice and discrimination.
From schools and libraries to museums and prisons, HMD activities take place in diverse settings. Explore the links below for ideas, support and guidance for your activity.
Support for your activity
Holocaust Memorial Day Trust (HMDT) supports individuals and organisations in marking HMD each year, by providing free resources, historical information and ideas of how to get involved.
To enable people to mark HMD 2019, we are reviewing the support we offer to local groups, with an increased focus on online materials and downloadable resources. We have decided not to run a regional Support Worker programme this year, however local activity organisers will continue to be able to access tailored advice and guidance through our website (hmd.org.uk) and by contacting the HMDT staff team.
If you have any questions about getting involved please feel free to contact the office directly by email [email protected] or phone 020 7785 7029.
