The Making History Together Travelling exhibition launched by The Together Plan in 2022 commemorates and promotes learning about the Holocaust in the German-occupied Soviet Union with a focus on Belarus. Approximately 2.7 million Jews were killed in the Soviet Union during the Holocaust, however, this history is little-known.
The Making History Together programme is about remembrance, it is a journey of discovery, it’s about learning how to be a changemaker, and exploring how to be the best version of ourselves. We do this by understanding and exploring themes within this history.
We are in a time when conflict, insecurity and antisemitism are again impacting Eastern Europe (with the war in Ukraine), Israel (after the attacks on October 7th) and the rest of the world, as seen in recent weeks with protests, division and a huge rise in antisemitic incidents. The theme of Holocaust Memorial Day this year is the Fragility of Freedom and this gives us a chance to explore how we can all work together to promote change and safeguard our freedoms.
The exhibition will be open for a public audience throughout the week and will also feature a number of special events. In addition there are opportunities for school workshops. Booking details for the events and school workshops are available at the website above.
Recommended to bring a mobile device and headphones to enjoy the interactive elements of the exhibition.
