I have been asked to take over organising HMD in Southwold on Jan 27th next year, which we will hold as usual at Southwold Theatre. So far we plan the programme as follows, while people gather in the foyer, we will play Henrik Gorecki's 3rd symphony, then to open with a Klezmer band, with slide show of refugees by a local artist, followed by a talk from Diana Cook, whose mother escaped but whose relations perished.
Then more music from Claire Duncan a flautist whose mother also fled the Nazis. After that I will present my pilgrimage to Chelmno taken this year with my son in honour of the relatives murdered by the Nazis at that camp, and our subsequent visit to Auschwitz.
Finally Prof Lawrence Goldman will say Kaddish; Bernsteins Holocaust survivors orchestra to play out during coffee and refreshments for Q&A session in the foyer.
