A panel discussion will be held jointly between Philosophy, Ethics and Religion at Bangor University and the National Centre of Religious Education for Wales on Thursday 25 January at 12:00 via Zoom.
The aim of the panel is to discuss the possibilities and challenges apparent in commemorating the Holocaust and developing effective education in a growingly digital age. It will also be held in the context of Holocaust Memorial Day which will take place on the 27 January, with this year’s theme being ‘Fragility of Freedom’.
The panel members will include Dr Matthew Boswell of Cardiff University, who is a scholar of Holocaust digital commemoration, Dr Joshua Andrews, who specialises in ethics and pedagogy, Ms Esther Evans, who is a postgraduate researcher exploring the interlink between religion and philosophy in relation to current society, and Ms Rachel Hall, who is in her final year studying Philosophy and Religion and English Literature, and is a former Holocaust Education Trust (HET) Ambassador. Dr Gareth Evans-Jones will be chairing the event.
