This year Huntcliff School has marked Holocaust Memorial Day with a week of form time activities for Year 7 to 10 including an introduction to key words relevant to the Holocaust adapted from the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust activity pack, watching the assembly film from Holocaust Learning UK and completing a reflective activity on a candle outline about what we should learn from the Holocaust. On 26th January we had a full school assembly on the subject of the 'Fragility of Freedom' including contributions from our Head Student, Anne Frank ambassador, a student's personal reflections on the impact of the Holocaust on their family history and a contribution from one our Poet Laureates. There has also been a book display in the school library and a wall display of the candle reflections has been created.
