Havant Borough Council are planning a short non-denominational service of commemoration at the Holocaust Memorial at Havant Cemetery, Eastern Road, Havant PO9 2JQ at 11.00 am on Friday 26th January 2024.
The service will focus on the theme 'Fragility of Freedom' and will be led by Councillor Leah Turner.
Following the service at Havant Cemetery, we are holding a reception at the Public Service Plaza, where we are honoured to have speaking at our 2024 Holocaust Memorial commemorations, Mr Bryan Huberman.
Bryan Huberman is a 2nd Generation speaker from the 45 Aid Society, who are a charity formed after the Holocaust by The Windermere Children, who were welcomed into our country after escaping from the horrors of the Holocaust in Europe.
He will be telling the life story of his late father Alfred Huberman. This is a both moving and informative account of life before, during and after the Holocaust.
