This Holocaust Memorial Day, join Brent’s commemorative event on Thursday 25 January to remember the millions of ordinary people murdered in the Holocaust and in the genocides that followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

This year’s theme of remembrance is ‘Fragility of Freedom’. In every genocide, those who are targeted for persecution have had their freedom restricted and removed before many of them are murdered. Therefore, we should commit ourselves to working together to strengthen freedom around the world.

To mark the occasion, Brent Council has prepared an evening of reflection. The programme will feature the following contributions:

Special guest speaker Holocaust survivor Ivor Perl BEM
Speeches by the Mayor of Brent, Council Leader and Chief Executive of Brent
A performance by the London Cantorial Singers
Testimonies of Rwandan survivors on the 30th anniversary of this genocide

Please join us to honour the experiences of people affected by the Holocaust and the genocides that followed. All are welcome to join at Brent Civic Centre on Thursday 25 January 2024. Doors will open from 5.30pm.
