Details of artworks can only be submitted if you registered your interest in the project via the online registration form before Friday 19 July 2019, or if you have notified HMDT of your intent to take part after this deadline by emailing [email protected]
If you would like your artwork to be considered for the national exhibition at the UK Commemorative Ceremony for Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) 2020 – please let us know via the online artwork information form.
Artworks will only be considered for the national exhibition at the UK Ceremony if it has been indicated through the online artwork information form before Friday 18 October 2019.
All submissions must have been created by a group. Eg. A school group, faith group, community group, organisation, local authority, prison, library etc that is based in the United Kingdom. Holocaust Memorial Day Trust (HMDT) will only select artworks from within the UK for the national exhibition at the UK Ceremony.
Artworks must have been created by the group responsible for the submission. HMDT will not accept responsibility for artworks that have been copied or made by other individuals.
Any artworks or photographs of artworks may be used and shared by HMDT for future materials or media work. Photographs may be cropped or edited for these purposes.
Photographs that are submitted must be high resolution JPEG.
By submitting photographs, participant groups are confirming that permissions have been given by any individuals in the photo for it to be shared by HMDT. If the individuals are under 18, permissions will have been obtained from their parents or carers prior to the submission of photographs.
HMDT is not responsible for costs associated with the creation of Memorial Flame artworks. Participant groups must provide all materials associated with the production of artworks.
HMDT reserves the right to cancel the 75 Memorial Flames project at any stage if we deem necessary or for reasons beyond our reasonable control.
HMDT will select 75 Memorial Flames based on the pre-specified selection criteria. We are unable to provide comments or feedback on selected artworks. Our decision on artworks that are selected will be final.
HMDT will notify groups of selected artworks towards the end of November 2019. If we cannot contact selected groups or if our communication goes unanswered for more than 10 days, we will then select a different artwork to be displayed instead.
HMDT will arrange the transportation of artworks that are selected to be displayed at the UK Commemorative Ceremony.
Groups will be responsible for ensuring that artworks are securely packaged to prevent breakage during transportation. HMDT can reimburse the cost of packaging up to £10.
HMDT will not be liable for any damage or loss, however caused, to artworks.
Artworks may be exhibited at various locations across the UK after the Commemorative Ceremony for HMD 2020. Artworks will therefore not be returned immediately after HMD 2020. Return dates will be communicated by HMDT to selected groups at a later stage.
Groups whose artwork has been selected will be entitled to two tickets to the UK Commemorative Ceremony for HMD 2020 in London. Travel and any additional expenses relating to the Ceremony will not be covered by HMDT.
Submission of an artwork will be deemed to constitute acceptance of these terms and conditions.
