We welcome Facebook’s Holocaust denial ban
Olivia Marks-Woldman OBE, Chief Executive of Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, welcomes the new ban that Facebook have introduced on Holocaust denial and distortion content.
‘We welcome the new ban that Facebook introduced on Holocaust denial and distortion content. Freedom of speech must always be protected, but falsehood and fabrication are harmful and dangerous.
‘Any denial or distortion of the Holocaust is deeply offensive to the survivors as well as to the memories of innocent millions who died and suffered during this appalling period of recent history. We must learn from genocide for a better future and we can only do so if the historical truth of the past is kept alive.’
