The London Borough of Barnet annual Holocaust Memorial Commemoration will take place on Sunday 28 January 2024 at 2pm at Middlesex University.
This multi-faith event is educational and reflective.
Speakers include the Mayor of Barnet, Cllr Nagus Narenthira, the High Commissioner of Rwanda, local students from the visit programme 'Lessons from Auschwitz', the Leader of Barnet Council, Cllr Barry Rawlings, Interim Vice Chancellor of Middlesex University, Prof Sean Wellington and a Holocaust survivor.
There will be music from the Barnet Band and Edgware & Hendon Reform Synagogue Choir.
Commemorative candles will be laid by children, snowdrops will be handed out at the end of the ceremony by students from Akiva School and there will be a display of poems written by school children. There will also be an exhibition of art called 'Anguish of Liberation' from Yad Vashem
