We are in our 19th consecutive year in having a Holocaust Memorial Service in Astley Park, Chorley at the War memorial/Cenotaph. Mayors, the local MP, councillors, Armed Forces with Standards, police, fire fighters, ambulance crews - meet and we have a Remembrance Service, and lay wreaths at the cenotaph.
Then we meet in the town Hall and local High School children recite poems and stories about the Holocaust. The children also light candles remembering the inhumane death camps and the millions of lives taken away.
