Farm Girl is a dramatic monologue, with music, written and read by Jane Coyle. The real-life setting is a farm in the County Down coastal village of Millisle, where Jewish refugees found safe haven during World War II. The central character - the farm girl of the title - is Rusalka Hartmann, who, as a seven year-old child, travelled to Northern Ireland from Vienna via the Kindertransport. She settles in the area and raises a family. The 'voice' of the monologue is her granddaughter Rosa Maguire. The farm in Millisle is a little hidden piece of Northern Ireland history.
