Books for Adults - Sophie's Choice

Sophie’s Choice is the story of a young writer who meets and falls in love with Sophie, a Polish woman who has rebuilt her life in Brooklyn in 1947, shortly after her liberation from Auschwitz-Birkenau. Focussing on the relationship between Sophie and her lover Nathan, the narrator tells us about the guilt faced by Sophie, not only because of her survival but because of the impossible choice she was forced to make when she arrived at Auschwitz.
