The Holocaust Memorial Day Trust (HMDT) is inviting tenders for the production of a short film. It will be used by community groups and schools as part of their commemoration of Holocaust Memorial Day in January 2008.
HMDT is looking for an innovative, inspiring and informative film or video resource to be created for local activity organisers to use. This film must capture the essence of the theme for 2008 “Imagine…remember, reflect, react”.
Louise Hector, Community Liaison Manager for HMDT said:
“Over 600 locally organised events were held across the United Kingdom for Holocaust Memorial Day 2007. Many of these incorporated the film into their events, which, overall, were attended by thousands of people. Following the success of last year’s short film, we are looking for a company to produce a short film, lasting no more than seven minutes that will really encourage people to mark the day and learn lessons from the Holocaust.”
Events are organised by a variety of bodies including local authorities, schools, faith groups, race equality groups, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender groups and other community organisations. The film should reflect the aims and objectives of HMDT, promote an understanding of the theme, complement printed community materials and be applicable for use by a variety of groups particularly schools and local authorities.
The closing date for submissions is 10am Friday 29 June. Please contact louise.hector@hmd.org.uk or call Louise on 0845 838 1883 for further information on the film tender.
