The HMDT Annual Conference will take place on Wednesday 25th June in the Ballroom of the Pavilion in Bournemouth.
This is HMDT’s third annual conference and will focus on our theme for HMD09: Stand Up To Hatred and will offer the opportunity to discuss with fellow event organisers good practice and experiences of HMD in your own area. We will also be discussing ways you can use the theme to help promote community cohesion and fight prejudice and hatred.
We are delighted to announce that our keynote speakers will be Mark Goldfinger, a Holocaust survivor from Poland and Rev Verner Oder, an Austrian whose father was SS Commandant of an Einsatzgruppen training camp near Mark’s home village. Despite their background Mark and Verner are now friends and visit schools speaking about their lives.
While this conference is primarily for community event organisers it is open to everyone with an interest in Holocaust Memorial Day including teachers, police officers and anyone working in the area of diversity and equality.
There is no charge to attend this conference and a booking form is available to download. To find out more or to book your place please email enquiries@hmd.org.uk
Bookings will be made on a strictly first come first served basis.
