Ben Helfgott MBE, Treasurer of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust and Chairman of the 45 Aid Society will feature on Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs on Sunday 1st April 2007 from 11.15am – 12pm. The programme will also be repeated on Friday 6th April.
Ben Helfgott survived both Buchenwald and Theresienstadt Camps, and arrived in the UK in 1945, and, 11 years later he represented Britain Weight-lifting team in the 1956 Olympic Games.
