Welcome to the new Holocaust Memorial Day Trust website

Holocaust Memorial Day Trust’s Communications Manager Joe Twilley introduces the new hmd.org.uk website and picks a few highlights for you to start exploring.

Welcome to the new Holocaust Memorial Day Trust website

Welcome to the new Holocaust Memorial Day website!

We are delighted to share with you the new online home for Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD).

Holocaust Memorial Day Trust (HMDT) makes sure that everyone can get involved with HMD and learn more about the Holocaust and genocide, particularly through our online resources and on social media.

As Communications Manager for HMDT, I have been working with a small team of people to redevelop our website and I hope that you enjoy exploring it. We will continue to add content and resources to the new website over the coming months.

Here are just a few highlights:

Resources

From life stories to schools materials, poems to films and more, our new resources section should help inspire you to get involved with HMD. We’ll be adding more throughout the year, but you can start exploring now using the filters at the top of the page.

Local HMD activities map

With thousands of activities taking place each year for HMD, we wanted to make sure people can easily upload what they are doing and find activities near them. Our new local activities map is searchable and will display activities uploaded by organisers. Upload your plans for HMD 2019 here and help us build the national picture. You can still add your activity and keep some details private if you wish.

Life stories

The experiences of people who were murdered in the Holocaust, under Nazi Persecution and in the genocides which followed, as well as those who survived, are at the heart of HMD. Explore HMDT’s collection of life stories in the resources section of the site here.

Mobile friendly design

The new website is designed to be fully responsive on desktops, mobiles and tablets, meaning that however you view our site it will be clear and easy to read.

We’ll be adding more content to the site over the coming months, so please do keep checking back and make sure you have signed up to our newsletter to be the first to hear about new resources, news and updates from Holocaust Memorial Day Trust.
