HMD Commemorative Book
Across the United Kingdom hundreds of thousands of
individuals took part in events organised by schools, faith groups, local councils, youth groups, race equality, LGBT and community groups to mark HMD09.
The theme of HMD09 was Stand up to Hatred and many organisers used this as a focus for their events. A book has been produced listing all of the events we know about having taken place to mark HMD.
This book serves as a record of the events which took place and as a source of inspiration for events in 2010.
You can download a copy from www.hmd.org.uk or request your free copy by contacting the HMDT team on 0845 838 1883 or enquiries@hmd.org.uk .

The Reading of the Testimonies is a result of the many requests received by individuals and organisations interested in organising commemoration events in cities around the world to stand in solidarity with survivors of the Rwandan genocide.

Forgive and Forget
Artist Jenny Stolzenberger has created a ceramic arts installation which honours the victims of the Holocaust. The artwork depicts a series of worn shoes of all sizes.
Each shoe evokes the memory of individuals who may have been caused pain or happiness and can tell us about the personality and life of the individual.
This artwork has recently been exhibited in Coventry’s Herbert Gallery for the National Commemoration on HMD09.
For more information on staging this exhibition, please, contact Jenny on jenny.stolzy@virgin.net
