HMD2010 has been commemorated throughout the UK. More events than ever have taken place in schools, communities, places of worship and many other organisations. On or around the 27th January hundreds of thousands of people joined together to become part of The Legacy of Hope. Many attended events in their community, others read survivor stories watched the HMD 2010 short film and 40,066 people took the time to pause for a moment and light a virtual candle on the HMDT website.
Teachers of Primary, Secondary and Post 16 Students should visit the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust Education Website for free lesson plans, assemblies and case studies.
It is now 50 Days until Holocaust Memorial Day 2010 – it’s not too late to organise your events.
HMDT has released a short film for those wishing to commemorate HMD 2010 in communities and schools. The film focuses on survivors’ stories and their wish for a Legacy of Hope. The film is narrated by actor Daniel Radcliffe, a supporter of HMD.
