Want to encourage others not to stand by when they see acts of hatred and discrimination?
Aged 14-24 and want to develop skills in raising awareness? Want to meet and learn from other young people?
If this sounds like you then sign up to our HMD Youth Champion workshops. As the next generation, you and other young people have a voice and the strength to ensure we don’t forget extreme acts of hatred that took place during the Holocaust and genocides past and present. Young people are a powerful force in making sure we all learn the lessons from the past to challenge hatred, prejudice and discrimination today.
Our free workshops taking place in Swansea, Leicester and Glasgow will give you the support, ideas and resources you need to put on an event or activity for Holocaust Memorial Day on 27 January.
Attending a workshop will help you to gain a better understanding of the Holocaust, genocide and Holocaust Memorial Day. You’ll also explore and develop ideas for marking HMD and how you can inspire and encourage others to take action in their communities and not stand by for Holocaust Memorial Day 2016.
During the workshop you’ll learn more about the year’s theme Don’t Stand By, and explore the ways that we can make the world listen to the stories of survivors from the Holocaust to the genocide taking place today in Darfur.
We’ll also cover the practicalities of organising events, awareness raising projects and hear tips from other HMD Youth Champions who held successful events last year.
HMD Youth Champion workshops are open to previous HMD Youth Champions and also anyone who is interested in becoming a Youth Champion. Read more about the Youth Champion programme here.
