Breslau (Wroclaw) was home to Germany’s third largest Jewish community and a thriving centre for Jewish culture before Hitler rose to power. This fascinating and moving documentary traces 14 survivors who share their memories of the place as well as the events that followed their exile. Their return to Breslau to explore the city’s new Jewish community conveys the hope for a new – and better – future.
Followed by a Q&A with filmmakers Karin Kaper and Dirk Szuszies.
This film will be the start of a line of events leading up to the Holocaust Memorial Day at Staffordshire University.
