Wednesday, 17 January, 2018 - 13:00 to 16:30

The University of Exeter will host its second Academic Conference on the Holocaust.

Students from schools and colleges from across the South West, from the University and members of the public will join to hear from Holocaust survivor Henri Obstfeld.

They will then take part in one from a choice of four seminars - small discussion groups. These will be run by Dr David Tollerton (University of Exeter Theology), Dr Ana Antic (University of Exeter History), Dr Nick Terry (University of Exeter History), and Rosemary Schonfeld (A local second generation survivor). These seminars will give a deeper knowledge and understanding of the Holocaust, its surrounding issues and contemporary relevance.

To close the day, a representative from each group in attendance will read a poem. We will also hear poetry from the University's 'Creative Writing' Society, written especially for HMD 2018. Attendees will then take part in the 'Postcard Project'.

A schedule of the day is below:

13:00-14:30 Talk from Holocaust Survivor, Henri Obstfeld
14:30-15:30 Seminars
15:30-16:30 Poems, Reflection, DIscussion and the Postcard Project.
