Museums are a great place to bring people together to think about challenging and emotive histories. They are also free and accessible places where you can meet people from different local communities, learn from each other’s experiences and have debates about society today.

We met with the International Slavery Museum's Adam Duckworth and the Museum of Liverpool's Kay Jones to hear about the inspiring and diverse events they organised for Holocaust Memorial Day 2015. They explored the stories of black Germans' and LGBT experiences under the Nazis as well as using our series of Moving Portraits to share the stories of survivors. They share their ideas and top tips with you.

If you are a museum or gallery interesting in marking Holocaust Memorial Day you can find more advice here.
